Best Comment Winner - Does your Cat Have a Sixth Sense?

Hi Everyone!

It was great to read about all of your pets’ mysterious and special abilities, and we’ve chosen our favourite comment!

Our favourite comment is by Anne:

Many years ago, when I was a student in Melbourne, I lived in a rooming house in Punt Rd, South Yarra, and had a young cat adopt me. My study hours and part time job meant that I could arrive home any time of the day, but would ALWAYS arrive to find Sam in the driveway waiting for me. I wondered if he just spent his whole day there, and mentioned this to some friends from one of the other rooms, who said, “No, most of the time he spends fast asleep in the laundry. He only goes out just before you come home.”
This was in spite of it being a VERY busy road; I used public transport, and had to walk approx 400m from my stop. There is no way he could have heard me arriving – there must have been some other method at work.

Congratulations Anne, you’ve won a cat brush to pamper your kitty!

And thank you everyone for your fantastic comments! It’s so great to see so many passionate cat lovers!

For two years I was a strict Vegan and am now a vegetarian. I have rules in my household of meat not being cooked in it. If friends and family want meat they can get takeaway and eat outside.

A friend of mine once asked me to contribute a lamb dish to a barbecue party she was holding, I made her pay for the meat.

Bustopher Jones my beautiful black and white giant of a cat on the other hand….. eats steak, yes mum has no problem purchasing and cutting up scotch fillet into eensy teensy little pieces so he can have his luxury. After dinner he sleeps on his woollen blanket which is on my bed & in winter I check his temperature and if he is too cold, I tuck him into his blanket.

My cat gizmo definitely has 6th sense, ever since I got very ill with a bowel disease she would come and hang around my legs and smooch up to me when i sat crying in pain on the toilet, as it turned out, high stress caused my disease to be worse and caused excruciating pain. When I lay in bed crying in pain she would come up on the bed and climb up on my side as i had to lay in the foetal position to stop the pain, she would put her paw on my hand and stick her head under my hand to comfort me. Now 1.5 yrs since surgery she still does the same, if i cry she is there right beside me or if I yell and get angry she comes straight to my side whereever i am instead of instinctively running away like most animals would do when they hear loud noise, she is always there to comfort me, I think instinctively knowing that stress makes me sick she has to try and make me feel better. If I keep crying she comes right up to my face and kisses my forehead or rubs her head against mine. She truly is my lil guardian angel and I believe it’s a very strong 6th sense she has and a very strong connection to me that makes her do this.
