Ace's Triumph: She Finally Finds a New Home

Posted by: Cat Diaries on 13 May 2009

It was such a close call. Just weeks before her owner was set to leave our shores for good and after month and months of searching Ace has finally been adopted! Like Ace’s life story to date, her adoption story is an extraordinary tale full of highs and lows, drama and suspense.

ace8Ace’s mum told us that she had received one inquiry from a woman early on in our Adopt a Cat Campaign interested in adopting Ace but never got back to her.  However, after months of searching and with no luck, Ace’s mum contacted the lady who originally inquired only to find that she was still interested. It appears as though there was some misunderstanding and lost messages along the way. But everything has worked out like a fairytale in the end. Read on for yourself to understand how much gratitude and happiness that Tereza, Ace’s original owner, is now filled with.

“I can’t even say how much I appreciate your help and how much it makes me happy to see that there are still people who “do care”.

I’ve been searching for someone who would adopt Ace for more than 3 months (before, a year ago, she had 5 kittens, so there was a big campaign for rescuing them).

And I’m glad that I didn’t listen to all the ‘cat lovers’ from Gumtree who were writing me emails like: “Tereza, there are thousands and thousands of cats looking for a new home. You probably want find anyone. Drive Ace to a shelter in Enmore, they will take a good care of her.”

I didn’t want to place Ace in any shelter and I was ready to fight for her chance to live happy life till the end.

I thank you so so so much for your help and your support!!! Ace is still with us and next Thursday is supposed to be her big day. I will let you know how everything goes.

Please stay the way you are, cats like Ace need you.

You’ll hear from me soon.

Kind regards

Tereza”

Ace’s adoption story follows Solja’s recent success story in finding a new home. So if good things come in threes then for the third we wish Ace, Solja and their new owners a lovely life together!

I’m so pleased for Ace, her new owner and Tereza. I cried when I read a while back that nobody was interested…..

I would love to adopt another cat, but I fear our Norman is too aggressive with other cats for this to be possible.

I’m so happy Ace found a home, when I showed my husband your post (trying to gain the pitty vote from him) unfortunately he said that we had enough (we have six) otherwise I would have loved to take Ace
