Celebrity Cats

We’re more accustomed to the likes of Paris Hilton carrying a little Chihuahua in her Louis Vuitton handbag but there have been many celebrities over the years who have opted for a kitten over a canine.

Sir Isaac Newton
Newton, famous for his laws of motion and gravity, was a confirmed cat lover. He invented the cat-flap so his felines could wander in and out of his closed doors without interrupting his research.

James Dean
The late rebel Dean was given a cat as a gift by Elizabeth Taylor. He named it ‘Marcus’ and sent his girlfriend at the time to look after it the night before he was killed driving his silver Porsche in 1955.

John Lennon
The Beatles legend was a great cat lover. Growing up he loved his mother cat ‘Elvis’ and had three more cats growing up in Liverpool. John and Yoko Ono shared their New York home with a black and white pair of cats: ‘Salt’ and ‘Pepper.’

Bill Clinton
‘Socks’ was the Clinton’s family pet during his presidency. Apparently it was adopted by the Clintons from their piano teacher when it jumped into the arms of Chelsea Clinton. Socks lost his number one pet status to a new Labrador Retriever ‘Buddy.’

Snoop Dog
Ironic to his name, hip-hop rapper Snoop Dog is actually the cat-type and owns two Siamese cats named ‘Frank Sinatra’ and ‘Miles Davis.’

Gary Oldman
Oldman, probably most famous for his role as Sirius Black in the Harry Potter series has a cat named Soymilk.

Cameron Diaz
The Charlie’s Angels star owns a feline called ‘Little Man.’ The paparazzi have spotted her out and about shopping for little cat outfits. Cameron, a fashionista herself makes sure her cats look the part too!
