Recycling old or damaged homewares can be great for your cat
Most cat-owners have experienced first-hand how interesting and exciting their furniture is for their kitty. Pulled carpet threads, scratched table legs and a host of ornaments knocked over with an over-exuberant tail are unfortunately all testaments to this fact.
But rather than throwing away damaged carpet or furniture, why not think green and recycle your feline-frazzled homewares into moggie toys? With a bit of coaxing, your cat will learn to use these as his or her personal playthings, and not the furniture you buy to replace it!

Here are a couple of tips for recycling old or damaged furniture:
Kitty carpet
Give yourself a DIY project and turn your old carpet into a scratching pole or jungle gym for your four-legged friend. Cut the carpet into strips and cover milk crates, old furniture or a wall in your garage for hours of feline fun.
Shelving stimulation
Got an old bookshelf that’s seen better days? Line the shelves with old material (maybe even that kitty carpet!) and voila – a climbing toy for your cat!
