Pet photography

One of the best pieces of wall decoration I know is of a loved pet. My grandmother has an embroidered picture their old cat in her kitchen. Though she (the cat) died many years ago, she still lives on in that hanging.

I am not too keen on embroidery myself so I am instead considering getting a good photograph of my cat to enlarge and frame. I am not much of a photographer so I am planning on hiring a pet photographer to get a good one for me.

Pet photography is not as unusual as one might think. There are lots of pet photographers around the country; this site lists a few of them.

If you are someone who likes to play around with the camera, or if you would rather spend your money on something other than a professional photographer, you can always do it yourself.

This website offers some great tips on pet photography, such as studying your cat during the day to find his or hers favourite things to do, and to put yourself on the same level as your pet. Both to fill up the frame and to maybe spark some creativity that might lead to better pictures.
