Christian the Lion

The tale of Christian the lion has to be one of the best true stories out in the animal kingdom. The tale is of a lion rescued from a terrible, cramped cage by two loveable guys who raise it with love and affection. Those guys had so much love for that lion to let it go and live a real life in the wild. It is a beautiful story of reconnection and care for such a great animal. I guess the saying is really true, if you love something set it free.

Seeing this story makes me think that maybe our feline friends aren’t that different from their wild cousins.  After all if an animal is loved and nurtured it grows attached to its providor. There are numerous cases of wild animals being trained by people who care for them and become like a mum to them.  ( I am by no means suggesting to get a wild animal!)

The best part about the story reveals the deep connection we all have with our beloved pets whether its our cute kitties or any other kind of animal. I know that when I come home after a long day to find my little moggie  sitting at the  front door to greet me, that is what makes it all worthwhile. An affectionate rub against the leg can turn my day around in an instant. And I bet most every cat lover feels the same.
