Cupcake Day for the RSPCA
Do you love the sweet taste of cupcakes? Do you love your little moggie? (Of course the answer is YES!) Well, thanks to the RSPCA, you can have your cake and eat it too. The RSPCA is hosting its annual Cupcake Day to benefit cats and dogs through RSPCA programs.
Cupcake day is just around the corner and is on Friday 17th August. Cupcakes will be baked by volunteers who register at the Cupcake Day website. Those who volunteer will receive a ‘cupcake packet’ in the mail, which contains all of the information to participate. Volunteers will purchase their own cupcake ingredients and decorate them with all the creativity they can muster.
Not the baking type? You can still purchase these treats and benefit the RSPCA. The cupcakes will only be sold on Cupcake Day at various school yards, workplaces, and stands all across Oz. These delicious treats will be sold at the vendor’s price with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit the RSPCA and its programs
.
Cupcake participants have the chance to receive some pretty neat prizes. The person or group who raises the most money will receive an RSPCA trophy and bragging rights. The most creative cupcake will be judged with contestants submitting photographs of their prized treats and the winner will receive a $100 Red Balloon Day voucher. Also, a new contest this year will be the most extreme cupcake eating contest. The contestants will submit a photo of them eating a cupcake in the most extreme place. The winner will receive a Red Balloon Day voucher as well. The winners will be judged on Cupcake Day and there will be a winner from each state.
Last year, more than 250,000 cupcakes were sold with all that money going to the RSPCA. So, if you are a regular ‘Betty Crocker’ then you can put your baking skills to good use and benefit deserving felines in your state.
