Famous Mice

So they may not be the same mice that your cat tries to catch around the house, but these mice have made a name for themselves.

Mickey Mouse

The oldest and arguably the most famous mouse of them all is Mickey Mouse. Created in 1928, Mickey Mouse is the figure head for the Walt Disney Company. Alongside with Mickey, Minnie Mouse was created as well. They got their start in 1928 with the animation Plane Crazy, which was not a success due to the lack of a distributor. It wasn’t until later in the year with the premiere of Steamboat Willie did critics and audiences really see them. Mickey Mouse has even received a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood in 1978, celebrating 50 years as an animated icon. Today, the blacken 2 ears represents the mouse and the empire behind it.

Stuart Little

Another mouse to make it onto the big screen was Stuart Little. First making his appearance in E. B. White’s children novel in 1945, it made its big screen debut in 1999 in the live action computer-animation film as Michael J. Fox as the voice for Stuart. The movie followed with a sequel in 2002, calling on the same cast from the previous. Stuart Little is known for its free spirited attitude and zest for adventures in life.

Itchy

This mouse became a household name because of another cartoon. Itchy from the Itchy and Scratchy Show on The Simpsons became known for their extreme antics and being the prime chose of show for Bart and Lisa Simpson. Since making its debut on an episode of The Simpsons, Itchy and Scratchy have become regulars on this television series. Like every other cat and mouse animation, the mouse is always in trouble, but triumphs over the cat in the end.
