Homemade Cat Toys
Here are some fun projects to do at home with everyday materials sure to amuse your feisty feline for hours. Have you bought numerous toys just to have your cat turn its tail up at them? Now, inexpensive and easy, these great activities are perfect to do with the kids or on a rainy afternoon. They require minimal assembly and everyday household objects. Add your own twist to the toys to really perk up your cat, you know them the best!
Roll on
Take a jam jar or other clear bottle and clean it well. Fill the inside with a small handful of fun pasta shapes, beans or other dried food. The brighter the colours the more fun your cat will have. Roll the jar across the floor and your cat we be mesmerised by the jingle inside!
Playhouse
Take two or three medium sized cardboard boxes and tape them together. Cut holes in various sides including one to connect the two boxes. Tie treats and toys to the inside for added amusement. Your feline will be frolicking in her new ‘house’ for hours.
Fishing-for-Fun
Take a medium length pole and attach string to one end. At the end of the string attach shiny material or fasten pompoms out of excess fabric. Your cat will delight at chasing and capturing the pom-pom. Hide behind a chair or door and dangle the pole in front of your cat for extra entertainment.
For when your frisky feline gets tuckered out from all his new toys, refresh them with this delicious cheese sensations. Combine flour, shredded cheddar cheese and parmesan with yogurt or sour cream. Dip in some cornmeal and your cat will have his very own afternoon delight!
