Kitten-ka-boodle Photography Competition
We’ve seen the great snaps of your felines you’ve uploaded here on Cat Diaries. Why not enter them into the upcoming Kitten-ka-Boodle Photography Competition? The contest is run by The Cat Protection Society of NSW. If you’re a member it costs $5 to enter, non-members pay $10.
It’s definitely a worthwhile cause, the CPS is an independent organization founded way back in 1958 by a group of cat lovers who were concerned for the welfare of homeless street cats. They started up a low-cost desexing program which reduced the high amounts of abandoned kittens.
Today, the CPS is a charitable organisation whose facilities include an adoption centre, welfare services, and information and products to keep your cat happy and healthy. They even run a “Kitten Kindy” where new owners can take classes on how to take care of their cat properly. This is great for kids as they will learn to train their new pet and avoid problem behaviour. You even have the option of bringing your kitty with you to the classes! The CPS still has to deal with unwanted and abandoned cats but with your help and greater community awareness, they can continue to improve their lives.
Entering is easy, just pick a great photo and mail it along with this completed form. The best photos will be exhibited at the Buzzbar Cafe at Newtown from 19th May to 8th June. Do go check it out, I hear Buzzbar’s sticky date cake with caramel sauce is to die for!
