Hi All,
I have a beautiful siamese cross called Bella who I've had since she was a kitten. She's about 13 years old and, in the typical siamese way, very possesive of us, me in particular. In mid-January we took in a new cat, Jackie, a male Russian blue, about 8 years old.
The two cats are like chalk and cheese. Bellle is compact, weighing less than 2 Kg, she's very reserved and tidy. Jackie is a whopping 7 K, he's loud and boisterous, very fun loving and still subject to the cat crazies from time to time.
Needless to say they don't get on…
The problem is that for the last 3 weeks or so Belle has taken up residence under our bed and hardly comes out all day. She waits for me to come to bed at night then slinks out to demand cuddles which is when I carry her out to her food bowl for her dinner which she eats very little of. At least she is still using the litter tray on her own!
Jackie seems totally oblivious to her attitude and tries to play with her which ends up with fur flying.
Can anyone give me any ideas how I can help her to make this transition easier for Belle and encourage her to rejoin the world outside the underneath of our bed?
Thanks
Gai
(and Belle and Jackie)
