A bed for your cat or kitten
A kitten needs to be warm, especially when sleeping. They will be used to snuggling up with their mother or siblings for warmth. There are a lot of ways to give your kitten a good, warm night’s rest.
There are a lot of different kitten beds available in stores. However, a box lined with a warm blanket, a quilt or a lamb’s wool cover is a good bed too. Whatever type of bed you choose it should be warm and snug so the kitten can curl up inside it. Cats and kittens love to curl up in snug areas, like on your lap or beside you.
Allowing your cat to sleep in bed with you is okay. As long as you are comfortable with it, there is no reason for your cat not to sleep with you. However, cats love to hog the bed. Be prepared to cling to the edge of your bed while your cat or sprawls themselves over the rest of it!
If you don’t want your cat sleeping with you, make sure your kitten understands this from the beginning. Set their bed in a quiet part of the house and close your bedroom door at night.
If you live in a cold climate you can put a hot water bottle under your cat or kitten’s bedding. Not only will it be lovely and cosy for them, it will encourage them to sleep there because of the warmth. As long as your cat is comfortable and warm they will have a good night’s sleep.

Another suggestion (that works for cats, dogs and humans) is to make a “heat bag” PILLOW of wheat (chicken feed) enclosed in a cotton casing .
Also make a pillowcase of towelling or fleecy scraps, to reduce risk of burns.
Heat the bag,two to three minutes in the micro wave oven, enclose in the “pillowcase” and leave for puss to snuggle into.
Mine were first made for relieving my arthritic condition….and even when I feel they have lost their heat,my cats Possum & Cadbury enjoy snuggling into them.
